My condolences to the family and friends of Lonya. I did not have the pleasure of knowing him, but my family who reside in YS did. My heart is heavy for all who loved him. Prayers and peace from me to you
Wonderful tribute
I met Lonya on on the bench in front of “Weavers”/ Tom’s Market one night several years ago! As is the case for many people, I am an insomniac. I walked downtown and sat on the bench. Lonya came up, sat down and began eating cheese with mustard on it!! We laughed at that, because I was totally disgusted!
Somehow, we got on the subject of adoption. I was adopted from the Lutheran Social Service Agency in Troy, Ohio. I could say a lot more but I won’t.
It has been my experience that those who have completed their mission on Earth often leave quickly or early. I would have loved to have seen Lonya with children and a family of his own. He has impacted each of us who knew him in a special way. Let’s use that positive energy for good! How many people have you helped today? How many smiles have you given?
