Busy little fellers

The locally renowned beaver dam in the heart of Glen Helen has grown to considerable proportions over the last half-year.

Stretching across the Yellow Springs Creek, the dam has caused water levels to rise multiple feet, with the creek’s surface just inches from the bisecting boardwalk.

Land manager Zach Bollheimer told the News earlier this week that he’s pleased with the industrious critters’ hard work.

Despite needing potentially to raise or relocate the boardwalk, Bollheimer said the beavers have provided the Glen with a much-needed additional wetland.
