    After just a few days on the job, Yellow Springs Interim Police Chief Dave Hale can see that the YSPD is an “established, well-run department,” he said in an interview last week. During the two months or so he expects to be here, he intends to keep it that way.

    Village Council members unanimously voted to offer the job of permanent Village manager to Laura Curliss, who has been the interim manager since February.

    Yellow Springs Interim Police Chief Arthur Scott tried retirement, but it didn’t take. So instead he decided to go to Afghanistan. When he returned to the United States, he was ready to dive into the work world again.
