Simeon Andrew Willis of Yellow Springs died on Wednesday, Aug. 12. He was 81. He was born Sept. 29, 1927, the son of the late Perry and Birdie Shope Willis.

Virginia M. “Sarah” Morrow of Tipp City, formerly of Yellow Springs, died Thursday, Aug. 13, at Hospice of Dayton. She was 86.

John Rinehart
Dr. John McLain Rinehart, composer, concert pianist and professor, died peacefully at age 72 surrounded by family and loved ones on Tuesday, Aug. 4, in Atlanta, Ga.

Celebration of life for Petronella Benton set
A memorial and celebration of life will be held for former resident Petronella Benton on Saturday, Aug. 22, at 6 p.m., at the home of Nate Cornett and Lisa Wolters, 165 Brookside Drive, Yellow Springs. Friends and acquaintances alike are invited to attend.

Evelyn Chiddister
Evelyn Chiddister, 89, died in Bloomington, Ind., on Tuesday morning, Aug.11, following an illness. A longtime resident of Goshen, Ind., Evelyn moved to Yellow Springs to be near her daughter in June 2007 after she fell and broke her hip, living first in the Friends Care Community Extended Care Center and then in the Friends Assisted Living Center, until her move to Bloomington four months ago.

Lucy Fogg
Lucy Marquerite Van Ness Fogg spent most of her adult life in Yellow Springs until eight years ago, when she moved to Carriage Court Assisted Living in Cincinnati. She died there on Saturday morning, Aug. 8. She was 92.

Barbara Davis
Barbara Hamilton Davis died of heart failure on June 6, in Los Angeles, Calif. She was 80. Born Barbara Retta Hamilton on Jan. 7, 1929, in Yellow Springs, she was the third child of Etta Belle Perry and Kenneth James Hamilton.
