  • Pirates lead Minor League

    The Pirates brought their lead to 3–0 in the Minor Leagues last week, as the Dragons defeated the Cubs 11–2 on Monday, June 9, while the Reds notched their first win of the season by overcoming the Dragons 8–7 on Wednesday, June 11.

  • Sea Dog practice begins

    The summer swim team program has started at Gaunt Park pool. Practices are at 9 a.m. for ages 11 and up; and 10 a.m. for ages 10 and under. Fees are $75 for individuals and $100 for families. Registration materials and meet schedules are available at practice.

  • Gym open for girls

    The Yellow Springs High School girls basketball program will offer open gym for girls every Tuesday and Thursday, 4:30–6:30 p.m., at the high school gym.

  • Bulldog sports roundup

    The four athletes representing Yellow Springs High School at this past weekend’s state track meet at the Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium in Columbus brought home five medals and a lot of pride for their strong showing in the Division III events.

  • Perry League play to begin Friday

    The Perry League, Yellow Springs’ t-ball program for girls and boys ages 2–9, will open its 2008 season Friday night, June 6, 6:30 p.m. at Gaunt Park. Two- and three-year-olds are welcome if accompanied on the diamond by an adult.

  • Bulldog sports roundup

    The boys distance runners carried the day again for Yellow Springs High School in the Division III Regional tournament last week at the University of Dayton’s Welcome Stadium.

  • Registration for Sea Dogs team

    Registration and orientation for the Yellow Springs Sea Dogs will be Monday, June 2, 6-7:30 p.m. at the YSHS cafeteria. Fees are $75 for individual swimmers and $100 for families. Scholarship assistance is available.

  • T-ball season opens June 6

    Perry League, Yellow Springs’ fascinating and phenomenal T-ball program, opens its 2008 season Friday night, June 6, 6:30 p.m. at Gaunt Park.

  • Bulldog sports roundup

    At the regional preliminary meet on Tuesday, May 27, the YSHS boys 4×800 relay squad qualified for State with a second place finish in 8:11.6.

  • Join summer track

    The Miami Valley Track Club begins practices for its summer season this week. Practices are held Monday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings in May at 6 p.m. at the Yellow Springs High School track.
