The family of Linda “Suzie” Archbold, of Springfield, is deeply saddened to announce she was welcomed into the loving arms of her Lord, Jesus Christ, at the age of 71, and is now at peace in the warmth and light of her Savior.

On Thursday, Sept. 23, local thespians took to the stage at the Yellow Springs Brewery’s Barrel Room for the inaugural “Bards & Brews” event.

Musicians took to stoops, stairs and back alleys for the villagewide event that made up Yellow Springs’ 2021 PorchFest.

Andrew Donald Jerison, always known as Andy, died on Aug. 29, 2021 from pancreatic cancer.

Moya Dale Shea passed away at home on Sept. 7, 2021, with her son, Jason, by her side.

Sidney Leonard, of Portland, Maine, passed away on Sept. 8 after a battle with cancer. She was 62.

In collaboration with 91.3-FM WYSO’s Eichelberger Center for Community Voices, the News is publishing excerpted transcripts from WYSO’s series “Loud As the Rolling Sea.”

On Saturday, Sept. 4, at the Yellow Springs Barrel Room, representatives from the Glen Helen Raptor Center held special presentations on the Center and its resident birds of prey.
