James Pavey Wilson, 88, of Lake Suzy, Fla. (formerly of Springfield, Ohio; Leroy, Ohio; and Sabina, Ohio) passed away on Oct. 13, 2020, in Port Charlotte, Fla.

After the announcement that Greene County had been elevated to level 3, or “red,” by the Ohio Public Health Advisory System, the YS Senior Center has halted its plan to reopen for in-person events. The elevation to level 3 indicates “very high exposure or spread” of COVID-19.

Over time, if you keep reading, you will get to know me and my perspective, but today I’ll tell you a little bit about my history.

When we ask our readers what their favorite page of the paper is, we are not surprised to hear that it’s our letters page — page 4. The Community Forum is the one part of the paper reserved for opinions, and we in this community have a lot of them.

Dr. Esther Hetzler, a longtime resident of Yellow Springs, passed peacefully into her long sleep on Sept. 30, 2020, at the age of 92. She was at home at the time of her passing with her son, Lance.
