Register for Minor League baseball
- Published: May 1, 2008
Registration for the 2008 Yellow Springs Minor League Youth Baseball Program will take place on Saturday and Sunday, May 3 and 4, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Gaunt Park. Boys and girls ages 7 to 11 are eligible to participate as long as they won’t turn 12 before July 31.
Minor League is a coach-pitch league, and no experience is necessary. Fees are $25 per child, and $15 for each additional player for families with more than one player. Each player must have a registration form signed by a parent or guardian. Registration forms can also be picked up and dropped off at 236 North High St.
The season will begin at the start of summer break and will run through mid July. Teams usually play two games per week, which are held Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings, as well as Saturday mornings at the minor league field on the far east side of Gaunt Park. Additional coaches may be needed this year due to the expected number of players. Anyone with an interest in volunteering or with any questions about the program in general can contact Tim or Jennifer Sherwood at 767-8702 or sherwt@woh.rr.com.
