Co-housing group to host informational event

The Antioch Eco-Village Pioneers, a group of villagers who aim to live in co-housing on the Antioch College campus, will present an informational event this Sunday, May 1, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Yellow Springs Senior Center. Everyone is invited, and refreshments will be served.

The event will include a short film on co-housing and a panel of people with experience living in community, or interested in doing so. Panelists include Antioch College student Leah Gaskin, who was raised in a co-housing community in California; Ron Siemer, who will speak on his reasons for being part of the group; Pat Gaskin, a former resident at Elder Spirit; and Pat Stempfly, who will also speak on her interest in the co-housing community. Following the discussion, Don Hollister will oversee questions.

The local group, which formed around the time of the Antioch College Village charrette a year ago, seeks new members, and especially hopes to include those of diverse ages and races in the group.
