YSHS girls basketball starts with a win
The Yellow Springs High School girls basketball team tipped off its 2019–20 season with a win at home against visiting Newton. The Bulldogs prevailed in the contest 46–29.
In the first quarter, Aaliyah Longshaw carried the Bulldogs to a 12–10 lead. YSHS was only up by five point going into the fourth quarter. They then outscored the Indians 19–7 in the fourth quarter to clinch the victory.
Angie Smith led her team with an impressive 24 points, nine rebounds and eight steals on the day. Longshaw contributed 13 points, six rebounds, and four steals and Annlyn Foster brought down 14 rebounds.
The team is 1–0.

Bowling team rolls well in first match
The YSHS varsity and reserve boys bowling team bowled against Legacy Christian at PlaMor Lanes on Monday, Nov. 18.
Both the varsity and reserve teams won their matches.
The high game was rolled by Finn Bledsoe — 227 — with a two-game high series of 424. Ivan Spahr rolled 183 and Maxx Sturgeon had 342 in his two-game series. In addition, the varsity boys scored their highest ever Baker’s game of 245.
