In support of longtime area resident Phil Kumbusky, and to help cover mounting medical costs associated with a rare genetic disease, a benefit concert and fundraiser will be held at Peach’s Grill on Saturday, Jan. 13.

Launched in 2020 by village resident and former Antioch College student Alex Rolland, with the mission to provide sustainable and reliable solar power to area residents and businesses, Village Solar has grown significantly since its inception.

At the group’s most recent meeting Monday, Dec. 18, Village Council voted to automatically enroll all municipal utility customers in the Village’s Utility Round-Up program.

Approximately 20 acres on the CBE — which adjoin marijuana producer Cresco Labs and Antioch University Midwest, and which have been for sale for over 10 years — will be listed for $75,000-$125,000 per acre beginning mid-January, with Allison Moody as the listing agent.

At the group’s most recent meeting on Thursday, Dec. 14, the Village Planning Commission considered the possibility of loosening regulations on the 42 registered — and future — Airbnbs in Yellow Springs.

On Monday, Dec. 4, Village Council continued the ongoing discussion of pursuing a plan that could culminate in the construction of a low-income housing development on the 35-acre land known as the CBE.

On Saturday evening, Dec. 2, jolly ol’ Saint Nick took a break from what is ostensibly the busiest time of his year to pay Yellow Springs an early visit.

Yellow Springs residents may soon be automatically enrolled in the Village’s Utility Round-Up program — wherein municipal utility customers round up their monthly bill to the nearest dollar, with the additional amount going to help those struggling to pay their bills.
