  • ‘The Timeline Show’— Exhibition tells story of Yellow Springs theater

    History tells a different story about Yellow Springs — one about a town that’s had a long, sometimes fraught, but always loving relationship with the theater. That story is being shared with the community by the YS Arts Council, the Arts and Culture Commission and the YS Historical Society in “The Timeline Show,” which opens at the Bryan Center on Jan. 18.

    Yellow Springs High School premiered  “The Bigfoot Diaries” last week. It addressed differences, acceptance, family and prejudice through the vehicle of dark comedy. 

  • YSHS, McKinney theater— ‘Bigfoot’ takes to the stage

    “The Bigfoot Letters” is a comedy presented by McKinney Middle School and Yellow Springs High School for four performances, Thursday–Saturday, Sept. 26–28, at 8 p.m., and Sunday, Sept. 29, at 2 p.m. All performances will be held at the Foundry Theater at Antioch College.

  • Original plays grace stage at 10-minute plays fest

    This year’s 10-Minute Play Festival features seven short plays, most of them written, directed, acted and produced by local residents.     This year’s 10-Minute Play Festival, produced by Yellow Springs Theater Company, are largely written, acted, directed and produced by local residents, making the festival a showcase of homegrown talent.

  • Bulldog Theater Festival to present two student plays this fall

    McKinney and YSHS will present two plays in October and November.

    The McKinney and YSHS theater departments will expand their offerings this fall with the first Bulldog Theater Festival, which will bring two theatrical performances to local audiences.

    The annual Ten Minute Play Festival happens this weekend, sponsored by the Yellow Springs Theater Company, or YSTC.

  • YSTC production— ‘Wicked’ play comes our way

    The auditorium of First Presbyterian Church was echoing with strange howls and exclamations last week, as a klatch of “carnival freaks” formed a circle and wailed around two adolescent friends. It was a strange sight to behold.
