    Although school was closed last Monday for the Labor Day holiday, the high school gymnasium was bouncing as the varsity and junior varsity volleyball teams showed up for a morning practice.

    YSSI Recreational Youth Soccer kicks off Saturday, Aug. 25, at Morgan Fields, with registration at 10 a.m. and an assessment clinic for all players at 10:30 a.m

    The Sam and Eddie’s Open Books Braves sailed through the 2018 Minor League post season tournament and took the championship in a 17–11 decision over the Peach’s Dodgers in the season finale on Saturday, July 28.

    The Adoption Link Braves wrapped up the 2018 Major League Championship by splitting the season’s final two games last week with the Sunrise Café Indians.

  • Sky-high enthusiasm of T-ballers

    Good people come back all the time. Like Janine and Pat Partee, who are back to watch one of their five grandkids, Derrick Partee Fleming, 2.

  • A thrill to see T-ballers fly

    The evening began with a gift. Russell Besson, 13, a T-ball graduate, came up to me with a large, blue-cloth-covered-something-or-other. He told me they’d heard that our current bat-and-ball and hand-sweeper bag was old, falling apart.

    Another week of improvement in every Minor League team’s performance ended with the Tom’s Market Pirates maintaining their position atop the standings a little more than half-way through the season.
