Judy N. Rose, a cherished member of the Yellow Springs community and beloved wife of Jim Rose, passed away July 23, 2024.

The interment of ashes of Ellen Catharine Newton Duell, who died June 28, 2024, at the age of 95, will be Sunday, Aug. 11, at 9:30 a.m., in Woodland Cemetery, Dayton.

Last week, audiences at the Foundry Theater were treated to three performances of “Bigger and Better,” an hour of surreal sketch comedy by Elliot Cromer (left), Adam Zaremsky (center) and Charlie Cromer, with musical guests The Boogie Bros.

On Friday, July 19, local funny guy, motivational speaker and improvisational performer Justin Howard took to a makeshift stage in Yellow Springs Hardware to act out an hour-long scene that featured him, and him alone.

“Action continues as Yellow Springs Youth Baseball nears the end of another exciting season.”

“In the interim, every time the sound of this rogue whistle filled the air, there was a pause in T-ball action.”

Last week, WYSO announced that it has hired Will Davis to lead the Eichelberger Center, where up-and-coming audio storytellers from around the Miami Valley learn audio production and digital storytelling.

Yellow Springs Hardware has been buzzing with activity, and not just from the power tools. Over the last few months, the local store has been a host to a variety of classes, activities and events, dubbed “The Hardware Store Sessions” by owner Dan Badger.
