    A taste for travel struck early for Antonia “Toni” Dosik, who points to a trip to Europe with her mother and sister when she was 13 as opening a door on the possibilities of the world.

  • Autumn’s Fair

    The 2015 Autumn Street Fair pulled a substantial amount of people from out of town to enjoy a variety of crafts, food, and music throughout the day. Clear skies and cool temperatures no doubt contributed to the success of the event, which has been a tradition in town for quite some time.

  • The Cyclops Festival – An Eye for Talent

    The fifth annual Cyclops Festival was a success; drawing artists, musicians, craftspeople, and food vendors from all around to showcase their merchandise and talents. Local and non-local festival attendees enjoyed DJs, music, handcrafted wares, sizzling provisions and local beer, all on a beautiful fall day.

  • Sea Dogs prepare for championship meet

    The Yellow Springs Aquatic Club swam against Oakwood at home last week and enters the summer championships this weekend.

    Public Art Commission celebrated the completion of Phase One improvements to the YS Sk8 Park during Street Fair a few weeks ago. This past Sunday we had a break from the rain and the skate park was hopping just like downtown!

  • Riders welcome on the public bus

    Local resident Gene Lohman is one of about 65 Yellow Springs residents who ride the public bus that comes through the village about every 45 minutes during the weekdays. Anyone interested in a bus route tutorial and free trial ride is invited to sign up now for an event scheduled the week of April 13. The rides are sponsored by the local Climate Change group.     Village resident Gene Lohman loves the “flex” bus — Greene County’s public transit system. When he wants to get anywhere — from downtown to Xenia or Beavercreek — he simply puts himself at a place along the bus route and hails a ride.

    The annual Independence Day festivities will take place Thursday, July 4.

    The annual Fourth of July parade will begin at 3 p.m. on Friday. The lineup for the parade will begin at 2 p.m. on the circular drive behind Friends Care Community, and the parade will travel from Friends Care, down Xenia Avenue and end at the Bryan Center.
