    Rapheal Allen revved the Bulldogs up with layups early in the first quarter to pull the team out of an initial slump towards an eventual 57–37 stampede over the Troy Christian Eagles on Friday, Dec. 19.

    The YSHS Lady Bulldogs lost to Troy Christian 52–38 on Thursday, Dec. 18, before serving up a whopping victory of 74–15 against Emmanuel Christian on Saturday, Dec. 20. Yellow Springs then lost to Fairborn, 78–46, on Monday, Dec. 22.

    Ryan Newsome had a career high 29 points, including seven three-pointers, in the Bulldogs’ close loss on the road against Jefferson 62–58 on Friday, Dec. 12.

    The Yellow Springs High School boys basketball team lost a nail-biting game at Jefferson 62–58 on Friday, Dec. 12. The Broncos are second in the Dayton Daily News rankings so far in the season.

    The YSHS girls basketball team showed up Xenia Christian 81–34 in a home game Monday, Dec. 8. Alex Beer, left, and Roniqua Cobb shot well from the outside to help their team to victory.

    It was an understated first week of basketball for Yellow Springs High School, evidenced by the Bulldogs 60–53 loss to Emmanuel Christian in their first game of the regular season.

    Hard at work preparing for their new season to start, members of the Yellow Springs High School basketball teams are benefitting from two new pieces of practice equipment that may help produce some winners. The “gun”, left, is a ball hopper and server that helps players with shooting fundamentals, and the “dominator” sharpens boxing and rebounding skills, shown here with Raphael Allen. The equipment was purchased with donations from the Yellow Springs Community Foundation, the Miami Valley Warriors (a semi-professional football team that uses the YSHS field) and local resident Naomi Orme.

  • Boys basketball to meet parents

    The Yellow Springs High School and McKinney School basketball program will hold a parent meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 25, at 5:30 p.m. in the high school cafeteria. The meeting is for parents and athletes participating in seventh grade through high school basketball.
