At its Monday, Dec. 6, regular meeting, held via Zoom, Village Council members raised questions and heard comments from villagers regarding a planned unit development, or PUD, proposed for the south end of town.

The following is a breakdown of how voters cast their votes in each precinct of Yellow Springs and Miami Township. The Greene County Board of Elections released precinct details on Nov. 17, and votes were certified by the State of Ohio on Nov. 22.

At its regular meeting on Nov. 15, held via Zoom, Village Council took several steps toward appropriating funds for the 2022 budget, which will be voted on at its Dec. 6 meeting.

Runners, joggers and walkers came out to the annual Mills Lawn Bulldog Jog 5K and 1.1-mile race on Friday, Nov. 26, beginning at Mills Lawn. Despite the brisk cold that morning, more than 100 participants crossed the finish line.

Crockett first ran for trustee in 2001, and since then has worked to maintain the township by making decisions that would help the township evolve as technology advanced and the makeup of township departments changed.

In their regular Nov. 15 meeting, held virtually via Zoom, Village Council approved two measures allowing Village Manager Josué Salmerón to purchase an apartment building located at 10 Lawson Place.

Jane Fernandes, President of Antioch College, announced that the college will no longer be working with the Yellow Springs Development Corporation to reopen the Wellness Center.

Village Manager Josué Salmerón has named recently promoted Sgt. Paige Burge as acting chief of the Yellow Springs Police Department until a new full-time chief is appointed. 

At its regular meeting on Nov. 1, held virtually via Zoom, Village Council members heard a report from Village Manager Josué Salmerón that detailed the standing of the Village’s energy portfolio and ways to continue using alternative energy in order to provide electricity to the village.

In their regular meeting on Monday, Oct. 18, Council members dedicated time to hear public feedback on their Oct. 4 meeting with Larry James, the attorney Council hired to review the proposal for a citizen review board, or CRB.
