Two Yellow Springs filmmakers, Aileen LeBlanc and Jim Klein, will be filming part of a documentary entitled “Take Us Home” in New York City on Monday, Nov. 8.

The Little Art Theatre will offer a second free screening of Prom Night in Mississippi on Saturday, Oct. 30, at 4 p.m. The documentary, shot in 2008, follows a group of high school seniors preparing for their first racially-integrated prom.

At the second annual Big Bull Shake Liar’s Contest on July 4, contestants competed to see who could spin the biggest yarn.

Author and NPR commentator Julie Zickefoose will give a workshop at the Marianist Environmental Education Center on July 9, as part of Tecumseh Land Trust’s 20th anniversary celebration, “Stories of People and the Land.”

The community is invited to attend an open meeting discussing the 2010 education plan and the current financial state of the Yellow Springs public schools.
