The Yellow Springs Senior Center was filled to capacity with lovers of music in support of Friends Music Camp Sunday, Dec. 29.

Saturday afternoon’s holiday fest at the Glen Helen’s Vernet Ecological Center was buzzing with activity — and Santa!

Over 100 students took to their instruments or wound up their vocal chords in a spectacular Mills Lawn School band and orchestra concert under the tutelage and leadership of new music director Brian Mayer.

Mills Lawn School held its annual Spelling Bee Friday, the first round in what will eventually be regional, state, then national spell-offs.

This Veterans Day, students participated in a flag retirement ceremony, led by the Yellow Springs Girl Scout Troop No. 30349.

Although Beggars Night was rescheduled, Mills Lawn School’s annual Halloween Parade did take place, albeit in the slightly more accommodating confines of the school gymnasium.

Mills Lawn School students will help offset the cost of replacing the recorders in the music room by performing for cash on the street in the MLS PTO Street Fair “Busking Booth.”
