Yellow Springs News named ‘Newspaper of the Year’

For excellence in journalism, design and advertising, the News was named “Newspaper of the Year” in its division at the Osman C. Hooper Non-Daily Newspaper Competition, presented by the Ohio News Media Association.

  •   “The Music Man” takes the stage this week

    “The Music Man,” the district’s upcoming all-school musical — involving young thespians from kindergarten through 12th grade — will be staged Thursday and Friday, April 17 and 18, at 7 p.m., and Saturday, April 19, at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., at the Foundry Theater.

  •   Antioch School to honor Peggy Erskine at Spring Community Celebration

    The Antioch School will hold its Spring Community Celebration Sunday, April 13, 2–4 p.m., with a special presentation at 2:30 p.m. The event was made possible with the support of the YS Community Foundation, Ohio Arts Council, Mad River Theater Works and 91.3 WYSO.

    After what will be seven years at the helm of YS Schools, Superintendent Terri Holden will retire from service in May next year. Megan Winston, current principal of Mills Lawn Elementary School, will step into the position upon Holden's retirement.
