  • Baseball tournament this week

The regular season champion Winds Cafe Indians had the week off while the rest of the teams vied for the remaining post-season tournament seeding positions.

  • The little and big miracles of T-ball

The Perry League T-ball gang has two weeks left of play this summer — this Friday, July 31 at 6:30 p.m. and Friday, Aug. 7, the annual grande finale event, both at Gaunt Park. Shown here at a recent game are Coach Jimmy and Corbin Hyatt. (Photo by Suzanne Szempruch)

They’re all little miracles. Sometimes big miracles.

  • This T-ball diamond sparkles

Tommy Moore, 7, is a home run king. When he comes to the plate he requests that we raise the tee as high as it will go.

  • Minor League baseball— Indians cruise into 9–1 lead

At a late-season Minor League game on Thursday, July 16, Tom’s Market Pirate Jason Knemeyer arrived at first base just before Winds Cafe Indian Ava Schell’s throw was caught by Lucas Dunn. The Indians won the game 7–3. (photo by Lauren Heaton)

Rain and baseball is never a good combination, and that continues to be the case with the local recreation leagues.

  • T-ball keeps ‘em coming back

Our Perry League t-ball program is for all children ages 2–9 regardless of race, color or creed, sexual orientation, ethnicity, spiritual inclination, ability or disability. We’re at Gaunt Park every Friday night from 6:30–8 p.m.

  • Minor League baseball— Winds still favor Indians

Mother Nature served up a bit of a break last week, with conditions that resulted in four of five scheduled Minor League rec baseball games being played.

  • The marvels and wonders of t-ball

Perry League t-ball is at Gaunt Park every Friday night from 6:30–8 p.m. Children can begin to play at any time and there’s no requirement to play every week. Come when you like, come when you can.

  • T-ball, mud ball, having a ball

And that’s our Perry League, Yellow Springs’s T-ball program for all the community’s children ages 2–9 regardless of race, color, or creed, sexual orientation, ethnicity, spiritual inclination, ability or disability.

  • Rain dampens, but baseball goes on

Rain continues to wreak havoc on both the Minor and Major League rec baseball schedules, with only enough dry days to get in three Minor League games.

  • Indians remain unbeaten

The Winds Cafe Indians have jumped out to an early season lead, with a 3–0 undefeated record after the second week of play.
