A therapy dog in need of some help
Recently, Diane Davis discovered that her dog has a congenital malformation on her left knee, which causes pain and lameness. Consequently, Raskel can’t walk on slippery hospital floors like other service dogs.

College announces new board chair, extension of full-tuition fellowships
The Antioch College Board of Trustees announced today that current board member Frances Horowitz will take over the position of board chair from Lee Morgan, who will remain on the board as vice-chair but focus on fund-raising. The board also recently voted to extend the four-year full tuition Horace Mann Fellowships to incoming students next fall.

Get your greens at the winter market
The Yellow Springs Winter Farmers Market, located in the basement of the United Methodist Church, is now open each Saturday from 9–noon. Villagers who go can purchase fresh greens, root vegetables and a variety of other local foods.

Council ranks transition items
At their Jan. 3 meeting, Village Council members identified the work projects that Village Manager Mark Cundiff will finish before he leaves his job, along with priorities for the new interim manager.

Mayer to leave WYSO
Longtime WYSO Public Radio Director of Business Operations and Development Jacki Mayer has accepted another job and will soon be leaving the station. WYSO has begun advertising for two new positions: director of development and director of finance and accounting.

Banner festival coming soon!
The almost annual banner festival will take place this winter, beginning in mid-February, when original banners will be hung up downtown. An organizational meeting will take place tonight, Jan. 9, at 7 p.m. at the Senior Center.
