These ideas and more were explored in a series of conversations last week spearheaded by the Yellow Springs Federal Credit Union, or YSFCU.

    Bibliophiles, take note: Blue Jacket Books is closing May 12. But foodies can take comfort in the fact that in-store cafe, Tables of Contents, has no plans to shut its doors, and may even expand in coming months.

    The inside of Ye Olde Trail Tavern is a mess. But it’s meant to be that way — temporarily. After being owned by Cathy Christian for 30 years, one of Yellow Springs’ oldest buildings is in new hands, and those hands are hard at work.

    There isn’t a barber pole outside the new home for the Wildflower Salon, but proprietor Emily Anglemyer and her associate, Meghan Burrowes, hope that their hair salon offers the welcoming, community vibe of a classic barbershop.

    For car aficionados, a car from 1946 is a vintage model that represents a timeless era. Ehman’s Garage, which opened that year, evokes the same sense of a classic era, and is celebrating its 70th anniversary this year.
