    Last Saturday’s annual Art on the Lawn represented the 34th year that artists both local and from around the region displayed their wares on the green grass of Mills Lawn School.

    About 150 people gathered outside the Beavercreek Walmart last Saturday, Aug. 5, to mark the third anniversary of the death of John Crawford III, who was shot by Beavercreek police inside the store in 2014.

    A capacity crowd turned out for the annual Friends Music Camp benefit concert for Glen Helen, which took place last Saturday, July 29, at the Foundry Theater. Both campers and camp staffers performed a varied program ranging from Wagner to Gershwin, including American folk music, jazz and original compositions.     Some villagers found relief from the heat last week at the Gaunt Park pool, although abundant rain and several storms made swimming iffy.

    Shakespeare’s “Julius Caesar” was performed outside and in the round last weekend on the grounds of Mills Lawn School, and the production continues this weekend at 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, July 21 and 22.
