  • Bulldog Sports Round-up

    At the Metro Buckeye Conference championships held last Saturday at John Bryan State Park, Yellow Springs seniors Gabe Amrhein and Nerak Patterson led Yellow Springs to the hotly contested men’s title by finishing fifth and seventh overall.

  • Sports Announcements

    Yellow Springs Soccer, Inc. will hold a community potluck on Saturday, Nov. 6, 7–9 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church. The potluck will celebrate over 45 years of recreational soccer and honor Duke Conrad and Shirley Kristensen for their contributions to women’s soccer in Yellow Springs.

  • Bulldog Sports Round-up

    Running back Ahmad Wagner charged through the Troy Christian defensive line in the McKinney School football team’s 52–20 loss on Thursday, Oct. 7. The home game was the final test of the season for the Bulldogs, who kept the game close in the first half. Wagner passed for 50 yards and rushed for 189 yards.

  • Boys cross country wins home meet, girls place second

    The Yellow Springs High School boys and girls cross country teams faced runners from Xenia Christian, Xenia and Greeneview at their home course on Thursday, finishing in first and second place, respectively.

  • Bulldog Sports Round-up

    Carl Wiener shot an 83 at the sectional tournament in Greenville last week, earning him a spot in the state district tournament on Oct. 7. Wiener’s score tied for first among the four individuals advancing to districts and tied him for third in the scoring of all participants. Fellow YSHS golfer Zeb Reichert posted a 104.

  • Dinner fetes soccer

    Yellow Springs Soccer, Inc. will hold a community potluck on Saturday, Nov. 6, 7–9 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church. The potluck will celebrate over 45 years of recreational soccer and honor Duke Conrad and Shirley Kristensen for their contributions to women’s soccer in Yellow Springs. Current and former players, referees, coaches and their families are encouraged to attend. Those planning to attend should bring a dish to share and table service for each person.

    The Yellow Springs varsity volleyball team dominated Dayton Jefferson in a three-set sweep last Thursday.

  • Bulldog Sports Round-up

    The YSHS boys soccer team ended a season-long winning drought on Thursday, Sept. 23, defeating the Xenia Christian Ambassadors 4–1 at home at the school’s homecoming game. Defender Elliot Cromer put the local side up 15 minutes into the match when he scored on an 18-yard looping header from the top of the penalty box.

  • Gym open for basketball

    The Yellow Springs High School boys basketball program will host open gym sessions beginning at 7 p.m. through the fall. The Tuesday session will be held at the Bryan Community Center, and on Wednesdays it will be at the YSHS gym.

  • Bulldog Sports Round-up

    Senior Nerak Patterson was the first Bulldog to cross the finish line at the YSHS track and field Friendship Invitational held in Cedarville on Saturday. Patterson, who skipped running last fall to help out the football team, ran his fastest time in almost three years while placing 35th overall out of 194 finishers.
