  • Race is on for championships

    The race for the 2016 Minor League regular season championship tightened up going into the final week of play, although the Tom’s Market Pirates still held on to the lead.

  • Pre-season soccer tournament kicks off this weekend

    The annual YSHS pre-season boys’ soccer tournament will be held this Friday, Saturday and Sunday, July 15–17, at Morgan Fields and YSHS. Twenty-six teams from the Toledo, Columbus, Cincinnati and Dayton areas will participate in the competition.

  • Pirates, Indians lead Minors, Majors

    Despite suffering their first defeat of the season, the Tom’s Market Pirates managed to hang on to first place in the Minor League standings as the 2016 season enters its final weeks of play.

  • International night at t-ball

    They’re considerate, these T-ball kids. Cruz Drew, 6, took me aside around 7:30 p.m. to explain to me he was sorry.

  • Love! Love! Love! at T-ball

    It was another wonderful night at T-ball.

  • Pirates dominate Minor League

    Halfway through the season, the Tom’s Market Pirates continue their domination and remain in first place with a 6–0 undefeated record after adding two more wins in last week’s play in a pair of victories over the Sam and Eddie’s Books Dragons.

  • T-ball’s constantly moving maelstrom

    We had so many kids show up for T-ball last Friday that I asked a mom-and-grandmom sitting on the bench with the kids to count.

    It was a close call as the Tom’s Market Pirates barely escaped what would have been their first loss to remain atop the Minor League standings.
