  • McGruder to discuss new book on race, real estate

    Dr. Kevin McGruder, assistant professor of history at Antioch College, will read from his new book, Race and Real Estate: Conflict and Cooperation in Harlem, 1890-1920, on Tuesday, Aug. 4 at 7 p.m. at McGregor 113 on the Antioch campus.

    Students and teachers alike perform last Friday, July 10, in the Yellow Springs Summer Music Camp orchestra. Campers will perform the “Grande Finale” concert at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, July 18, in front of Mills Lawn School, or in the gym in case of rain.

    YSKP’s 21st original musical, “The Farm,” is inspired by the events of the Whitehall Farm auction and George Orwell’s “Animal Farm.” The play asks the question — can the wild animals, farm animals and human kids work together to save their beloved farm from developers?
