    At its April meeting, the Yellow Springs Board of Education unanimously passed a resolution that will allow the Yellow Springs school district to enter into negotiations regarding the purchase of land for future school buildings.

    The newly launched Yellow Springs Alumni Association, or YSAA, is working on a variety of networking, fundraising, scholarship and other initiatives to benefit Yellow Springs schools and current students.     Colleges have them. Private secondary schools have them. But until recently most public schools didn’t have them — alumni associations, that is.

    Students from Mills Lawn Elementary School’s fourth-grade classes presented the findings of their recent PBL project, “Wheelchair Experience,” which gave students in the class a better understanding of what school is like for their “wheelchair friends.”

    The YS Chamber of Commerce invites all YSHS and Greene County Career Center graduating seniors to apply for the annual college scholarship to students attending a two- or four-year institution of higher learning.
