Playin’ o’er a pint
A Irish session band held court at Ye Olde Trail Tavern on Saturday, March 12. Playing were Kenton Domer-Shank on accordion, Patrick Foose on banjo, Ken Beer on fiddle, Parker Buckley on mandolin and Tim Daugherty on the anglo concertina.
The planned park, Ohio’s 76th, will aim to to preserve and highlight Oldtown, the site of one of the largest-known Shawnee settlements in Ohio, often cited by historians as the birthplace of Tecumseh.
YSHS One Acts return
The YSHS One Acts — short plays written, directed and acted by students — were revived this year by Rosemary Burmester, who produced and coordinated the plays for her senior project.
After an ice storm and heavy snowfall on Feb. 3 and 4, villagers came out with shovels, snow plows, salt and sleds to both combat and enjoy the winter weather.

On Sunday, Feb. 13, Super Bowl LVI offered brief hope to Cincinnati Bengals fans, as their team faced off against the Los Angeles Rams. After a historic season and a dramatically close game, however, the Bengals faltered with a score of 23–20.

Busy little fellers
The locally renowned beaver dam in the heart of Glen Helen has grown to considerable proportions over the last half-year.
Runners, joggers and walkers came out to the annual Mills Lawn Bulldog Jog 5K and 1.1-mile race on Friday, Nov. 26, beginning at Mills Lawn. Despite the brisk cold that morning, more than 100 participants crossed the finish line.
On Tuesday, Nov. 23, Village of Yellow Springs foreman Tanner Bussey dropped off a bag of flour and sugar to Susan Gartner as part of the Village’s annual distribution of the baking staples to local widows and widowers.
‘A Christmas Carol’ returns to the Cincinnati Playhouse
Villagers Bruce and Charlie Cromer will return to play Scrooge and Young Scrooge, respectively, in “A Christmas Carol” at the Cincinnati Playhouse Nov. 24–Dec. 30.
